Working in partnership with Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service
The safety of our customers is always our utmost priority, and we work closely with fire services across the East Midlands to ensure all our properties are fire safe.
To aid us in this work, we’ve entered into a Primary Authority Agreement with Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service.
Whilst we continue to manage our homes across the East Midlands, this agreement ensures that we now have one source of guidance and support for all our fire safety activity.
The agreement with Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service provides a central point of contact for all of NCHA’s buildings regardless of the type of home, or where they are.
All future fire safety policies and procedures will be created and implemented with the support of one single advocate, providing assured, consistent regulatory advice; making it simpler and easier to comply with fire safety legislation.
Watch Manager Matt Herrick of Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service said: "We are pleased to be entering into a primary authority partnership agreement with Nottingham Community Housing Association, which promises to further both organisations aim to ensure the highest standards of fire safety in the built environment.
“We look forward to working together and we will provide advice and guidance on fire safety matters to aid compliance to exacting standards across all NCHA properties in the East Midlands region.”
NCHA’s Chief Executive, Paul Moat said: "We’ve been keen to enter into a primary authority partnership agreement for a while. In Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service we’ve found the perfect partner with whom to further our objectives; providing our customers with a safe place to live and our colleagues with a safe place to work."
We’ll shortly be attending our first formal meeting with Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service to set out the scope and content of the primary authority agreement and we look forward to a long, successful and safe partnership.
