Combatting digital exclusion

Our Community Support team have been working with customers to combat digital exclusion, helping them get online and combat loneliness.

Carol, NCHA’s Digital Inclusion Support Worker, is hosting a series of Digital Cafés to help customers access the internet, and look at ways it can help them in their day to day activities.

At a recent session, Carol worked with customer Jonathan, exploring how digital technology can support him in his studies, and looking at the equipment he needs.

Jonathan, a resident at Garnet House since 2019, is currently studying animation and, from September, is beginning a musical engineering course.

The Digital Cafés support people to build their digital confidence and independence, opening up new opportunities and helping them stay in touch with friends and family. It’s one of the many ways we’re looking to deliver social impact through the additional support services we offer.

The service is open to all our customers. To find out how we can help you, contact Carol direct by calling 0800 013 8555 or email carol.smart@ncha.org.uk.
