Housing Matters service to close

Last month Leicestershire County Council made the decision to withdraw funding for the Falcon Centre’s homelessness support services, based in Loughborough.

This means that sadly our Housing Matters service, delivered in partnership with Falcon Centre will close on 31 March 2024.

The service offers short-term emergency accommodation and support for people at risk of losing their tenancy. It’s made a really positive impact to peoples’ lives over the last eight years.

We’re so grateful to our Housing Matters colleagues for their dedication, and to our partners at the Falcon Centre for their transformative work.

What happens next?

Housing Matters will continue to take referrals until 31 December 2023. If you need support, please call 01509 642 382 or email referralhub@falconsupportservices.org.uk

At NCHA we remain committed to doing all we can to prevent homelessness across our region. We will continue to work closely with local authorities, offer a variety of services and lobby for political change; it’s all part of our Homes for Cathy promise.

Leicestershire County Council have commented that from April 2024 they will continue to offer homelessness support through their First Contact Plus scheme.
