A job with a purpose

Dean works as a Sales Negotiator, responsible for selling NCHA’s shared ownership homes across the East Midlands.

He’s a great example of someone’s who developed their career with us. He wants to share his story to inspire others to consider a career at NCHA.

“From leaving school I worked in retail for many years but felt that I wanted to do something more meaningful with my life.

“In 2009 I applied for a Support Worker position at NCHA. I stayed for nearly five years and really enjoyed my time making a difference to people with high-level physical needs and learning disabilities.

“In 2014, I moved into an admin role at NCHA’s head office. This was strange for me as I’d never stepped foot into an office before or sat at a computer.

“My manager was very supportive and ensured I had the training and development needed to help me grow. I’m very adaptable and willing to learn, so I met new challenges head on and now I’m a Sales Negotiator.

“I enjoy watching our developments grow from the soil up. I’m involved at every stage of the build and I love getting to meet so many different people from day to day. The best part is handing over the keys to new homeowners and seeing happy faces.

“Flexible working at NCHA has been great for my role as I’m out and about and meeting buyers. Whilst working at NCHA I’ve been given the opportunity to improve my skills with various training courses from delivering excellent customer service to property photography.

“I’m excited to see NCHA working more sustainably and increasing the number of affordable houses we provide. I started at NCHA wanting to do something worthwhile and I’m certainly still doing that.”
