Our history

Our story begins in 1973, where a grant from Shelter and a loan from Nottingham City Council helped us to get started. In return for a loan of £500,000 from the council, we pledged to provide the city with 100 affordable homes that year. Nottingham Community Housing Association was born.

Since then, we’ve developed into an organisation with homes and services across the East Midlands.

We’re a big provider of homes and social care, with over 10,000 homes in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland.

But no matter how big we get, we still stay true to our social purpose.

Operating as a charitable social landlord our mission is to provide homes and support by people who care. We work with local authorities and other organisations to provide homes where people want to live. These partnerships also helps us to provide support that changes lives.

When we’re 100, we still want to be creating more homes, great services and better lives!

Notts TV special

We did a special video with Notts TV to mark our 50th birthday. Holly Dagnall shares some of the key things we do to have an impact on local communities.
