Supporting women fleeing abuse

Our first step to supporting people with additional needs came from providing homes for women fleeing domestic abuse.

Marlene Ferris, Manager of Newark Women’s Aid, has worked with thousands of women and children who have benefitted from having a safe home.

Thanks to our support, East Midlands Women’s Aid, has helped over 6,500 women and 7,500 children over the years.

DAHA logoWe continue to provide services and support, including accommodation, for adults and children who are living with the impact of domestic abuse.

We’re accredited by the Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance, working with other housing agencies to improve our response to domestic abuse.

NCHA was ahead of its time in recognising the need for a safe, comfortable, supportive environment for women and children who had been victims of domestic abuse.
