Join our housing team
We’re looking for housing specialists to join us as a Lettings Officer based in Leicestershire.
We manage over 10,000 homes across the East Midlands. This requires a strong team to allocate homes as quickly and professionally as possible to those that need them. Stacey and Maxine work in the Your Home team helping people to find a new home. Here’s what they had to say about working for us:
Meet Stacey
“I joined NCHA in September 2020 as an Allocations Coordinator and came from a similar role with plenty of housing experience. I am responsible for allocating affordable properties across Nottingham.
“I believe I work in the best part of housing, as we provide people with strong foundations on which to build better lives.
“I feel like I am really making a difference, as I am housing some of the most vulnerable people in our community. But I really enjoy working with people and it gives me comfort knowing that these people are being supported to maintain a long-term tenancy.
“NCHA have supported me with various training courses relating to housing and in 2022, I was a VIP winner in our employee recognition scheme. I feel valued and couldn’t do this role without the support of my manager and my colleagues.”
Meet Maxine
“I joined NCHA in 1999 and have worked in various housing roles during that time, so I have gained a lot of experience! I am based in our new office in Edwinstowe and look after allocations in north Nottinghamshire and part of Lincolnshire.
“I support our customers through the allocations process from the shortlisting and pre-tenancy process to handing over the keys! I am also trained to provide customers with information around benefits to maximise their income. I am also able to signpost them to relevant departments and organisations to provide any further support if needed.
“As we are the customers first point of contact, we aim to get them in the best possible position to make their tenancy sustainable. We set the foundations, and once we handover the keys we pass the customer over to the Your Community Team to manage the tenancy going forward.
“NCHA recently celebrated 50 years of delivering homes across the East Midlands. During the celebrations it was amazing to see the difference we’ve made to people’s lives. I feel very proud to work in housing and I look forward to securing safe homes for many more people in the future.”
