Support through the cost of living crisis

Our Community Support team have had some fantastic successes recently helping customers and their finances.

Last year, they worked with over 400 people who were struggling to make ends meet.

In total, they’ve helped customers:

  • Claim additional benefits worth £83,000 (one single customer claimed £33,000 in back dated benefits)
  • Write off over £70,500 of debt
  • Claim £58,000 towards one-off expenses such as furniture, access to employment, home improvements and back to school costs.

In addition, our Tenant Welfare Fund handed out over £9,000 of energy and food vouchers for customers most impacted by the cost of living crisis.

Added value

Our Community Support team are on hand to offer support to customers who are struggling with their finances and managing their home.

They offer help with budgeting and benefits, as well as signposting to external support agencies, including support for people experiencing domestic abuse or those living through a period of ill mental health.

It’s all part of the added value we offer our customers, as part of our social impact pledge to invest in communities and improve people’s quality of life and wellbeing.
