Energy saving

Reducing the amount of energy you use around your home saves money and helps protect the planet.

We know that for many people their home is their world. We want to help you look after it: read our energy-saving guide [PDF]

Saving money on your bills

We know that many people are struggling with the increased cost of living. Thinking about how you can save money around your home could help.

Take control of your energy use by:

  • Using energy-saving light bulbs and covering your pans when cooking.
  • Submitting regular meter readings, so you only pay for the energy you use. Getting a smart meter can help to keep track of your energy use.
  • Turning off unused appliances and bleeding your radiators to warm your home more efficiently.

Read our energy saving guide above for more information. If you're struggling to pay your utility bills, please talk to us to see how we can help. You can also get in touch with the National Energy Foundation to get specialist support through the Better Housing, Better Health service.

Energy improvements to older homes

The government has a special fund to help make older homes more energy-efficient.

We’ve received money from this fund and we are using it to help customers save money on their bills. We've already upgraded some of our homes, and have more work planned in.
