This September, NCHA is shining a spotlight on Shared Ownership, to raise awareness of how the scheme works and how it can help more people get on the property ladder.

What is Shared Ownership?

Shared Ownership is a government-backed scheme that allows eligible buyers to purchase a share of a home and pay rent on the remaining share. It offers a more affordable route into homeownership by reducing the size of the deposit and mortgage required compared to buying a property outright.

As your circumstances change, you may be able to increase the share you own over time through a process known as staircasing, with the option of eventually owning 100% of your home.

We're hosting a series of events across the East Midlands, giving prospective buyers the chance to view homes currently available for sale and speak directly with our Sales team.

Whether you're completely new to Shared Ownership or already considering a move, our team will be on hand to answer your questions about affordability, mortgages, eligibility and staircasing.

Join our ‘Get mortgage-ready workshop’ to learn how to prepare financially for buying a home. We'll cover budgeting, saving, affordability and the key steps you can take now to improve your chances of getting on the property ladder.
