New affordable homes for Radcliffe on Trent
Land acquired for new development
Plans are moving forward for 75 new affordable homes in Radcliffe on Trent, following the purchase of a 7.5‑acre site at The Paddocks in partnership with locally based developer MyPad.
At the junction of the A52, Lees Barn Road and Nottingham Road - next to the RSPC Animal Welfare Centre - the site already has planning consent for residential development and offers a great opportunity to help address housing need in the Rushcliffe area.
Following a competitive tender process run on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council, NCHA successfully secured the site, which was marketed by heb Chartered Surveyors acting for the County Council and The Arc Partnership.
Supporting local housing need
Of the 75 homes planned, 50 will be available for social rent, helping households on the local housing register to access secure and affordable homes. A further 25 homes will be delivered through shared ownership, offering people the chance to take their first steps towards home ownership in a more affordable way.
Claudine Edwards, New Business and Development Manager at NCHA, said: “The purchase of this land in Radcliffe on Trent highlights our continued commitment to tackling the housing crisis. As one of the largest housing associations in the region, we’re focused on increasing access to high‑quality, affordable housing that meets local need.”
Working in partnership
MyPad will construct and deliver the homes on our behalf, bringing their local expertise and experience to the scheme. Work is already underway preparing a Reserved Matters planning application, which is expected to be submitted in the coming months, with work on site anticipated to begin towards the end of the year.
This development forms part of NCHA’s continued investment in new affordable housing across the region, supported by funding from Homes England.
We’ll be sharing further updates as the project progresses. If you’re interested in the shared ownership homes, register your interest and be one of the first to receive more information when we’re ready to go to market.
