More than £140m for new homes
We've secured a new £73 million funding facility with Scottish Widows, helping us continue to invest in affordable housing and support communities across the East Midlands.
The agreement extends our existing funding arrangements for a new 20-year term, providing long-term financial certainty and strengthening our ability to deliver much-needed affordable homes in the years ahead.
As a housing association, our focus is on providing safe, secure and affordable homes for people across the region. We currently own and manage more than 11,000 homes and remain committed to increasing the supply of affordable housing where it is needed most.
A commitment to new homes
Over the last three financial years, we've delivered 1,112 new homes. We expect to build a further 1,405 homes over the next three years as we continue to help address the shortage of affordable housing across the East Midlands.
The new funding facility will help us plan with confidence and continue investing in both new and existing homes. As well as building more affordable homes, we're committed to ensuring our existing customers live in homes that are safe, comfortable and energy efficient.
This latest agreement follows the recent announcement of a £70 million funding facility from NatWest, which is supporting our wider ambitions to deliver affordable homes across the East Midlands and invest in improving existing homes.
Delivering long-term certainty
Naomi Dobraszczyc, Director of Finance and Resources, said:
"Securing this £73 million facility with Scottish Widows provides long-term certainty and increased financial resilience at an important time for the housing sector.
"The extended 20-year term gives us the confidence to plan ahead and continue investing in high-quality, affordable homes that people across the East Midlands urgently need."
Shona Brown, Associate Director, Loan Investments & Shareholder Assets at Scottish Widows, said:
"Scottish Widows is proud to invest pension savings in projects that support homes, infrastructure and communities across the UK.
"That's why we're especially delighted to strengthen our long-standing relationship with NCHA through this financing, helping support the delivery of more affordable homes across the East Midlands. It reflects our commitment to long-term investment while giving NCHA greater certainty to plan ahead and invest in local communities."
By securing long-term funding and maintaining strong partnerships with investors, we're helping to ensure we can continue delivering affordable homes and investing in the communities we serve for many years to come.
