Get home insurance ahead of winter
As part of our commitment to keeping our customers safe, we’ve created some resources to help protect you, your home and belongings against flood risk.
Climate change means that flooding will most likely become more severe and unpredictable across the UK in the future. We want you to be prepared and have all the support you need so you know what to do if your home is affected by flooding.
Have you got home contents insurance?
Ahead of the winter months, it's a good idea to check you've got the correct home insurance in place to protect your home and possessions in the event of things like flooding.
You can find out how to get home contents insurance on our website. It’s really simple to sort and being prepared can make all the difference.
Read our flood advice
We also encourage you to read our flood resources booklet. It features useful key contacts, advice and guidance should your home be impacted by flooding.
It’s important to remember that you don’t need to live near a river or a stream for your home to be at risk of flooding.
Flooding can be caused by various factors, such as blocked drains or heavy rain that falls over a short time period. Your home may also be at risk if flooding has happened before in your area, or if your area is shown to be at risk on a flood map.
Check your risk level by entering your postcode on the government website.
