Changes to our fire safety contractors

These changes will help us continue to meet our safety responsibilities and maintain safe homes and communities for our customers.

What this means for you

The delivery of your services will continue as normal. You may start to see some new contractors working in and around NCHA homes and communal areas.

From 1 November 2026:

  • Fieldway will carry out fire risk assessments, fire alarm and emergency lighting services, smoke ventilation systems, and access control systems.
  • Element will carry out fire door inspections.

Some contractors currently carrying out work on our behalf may still complete jobs that were arranged before 1 November 2026. Any new work raised after this date will be managed by the new contractors.

Staying safe when someone visits your home

If somebody visits your home claiming to be from NCHA or one of our contractors, please always feel comfortable asking to see their identification before allowing them access.

All NCHA team members and contractors working on our behalf will carry valid identification and will be happy to show it to you. Genuine representatives will always understand why you want to check who they are to ensure your safety.

If you're ever unsure about a visitor, please contact us to verify their identity before allowing them into your home.

We appreciate your support during this transition. These new arrangements will help us continue to provide safe homes, meet our legal safety responsibilities and deliver an effective service for our customers.
