Gabriella's apprenticeship helps her support other apprentices

Gabriella, our Apprentice Support Assistant, has completed her own apprenticeship so she can help others. Here's Gabriella's story in her own words:

When I first started at NCHA, I was given the opportunity to complete an apprenticeship, and I went on to achieve a Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship. At the time, I didn’t know what to expect, as I had never completed an apprenticeship before, but the experience helped me grow both personally and professionally.

Moving to my current role

Throughout the various roles I’ve held at NCHA, apprenticeship opportunities have consistently supported my development. I am now the Apprenticeship Support Assistant within the Talent and Recruitment team, where I help apprentices throughout their journey – checking in with them, liaising with training providers, and offering guidance and support.

Completing an apprenticeship in coaching

Most recently, I completed a Level 5 Coaching apprenticeship, which has given me greater confidence in my role. It has taught me how to create a supportive, non‑judgemental space where learners feel comfortable expressing themselves and motivated to achieve. This has helped me build strong, positive working relationships with apprentices, even after they have completed their programmes.

Helping other apprentices

Having been an apprentice myself, I understand the commitment, challenges, and hard work involved. This firsthand experience helps me provide the same level of support that I valued during my own apprenticeship journey.

The coaching apprenticeship has encouraged me to be more forward‑focused, reflect on what inspires me, and recognise the areas of learning I enjoy most. It has also led to me becoming part of the NCHA Coaching Pool.

We’re very supportive here at NCHA, and growth and development are encouraged and celebrated. We’re always looking for ways to give people the skills they need to get ahead. If you’re considering a career in housing, take a look at our job vacancies.
