Heritage

Cahn Memorial Homes, also known as Houses of Rest for Miners, is an historic almshouse complex established in 1925. They were built through the generosity of philanthropist Sir Julien Cahn, 1st Baronet of Stanford on Soar in honour of his parents.

Designed by Sir Reginald Blomfield these Grade II listed bungalows were originally intended to house local retired coal miners. They are also a great early example of the philanthropy Cahn demonstrated throughout his life.

Nottingham Community Almshouse Charity assumed trusteeship in 2019.
