This month, we’re shining a spotlight on shared ownership. It’s a simple, affordable way for more people to get a foot on the property ladder. Whether you’re a first-time buyer, or simply seeking a secure place to call home, shared ownership could be the key to making your home-buying dream a reality.
We’ve been delivering shared ownership homes since 1987 and we have around 1,600 across the East Midlands, with more in the pipeline.
As part of our strategic partnership with Homes England, we’re proud to be building quality, sustainable homes for the people who need them most. Our efforts have even earned us a place in the Inside Housing Top 50 Builders list for 2025 — ranking 43rd nationally.
Why shared ownership matters
The UK is still facing a shortage of affordable housing options, and buying a home outright can feel out of reach for many.
Shared ownership offers a practical solution: you buy a share of your home (usually between 10% and 75%) and pay rent on the rest. Over time, you can buy more shares until you own your home outright, all while benefiting from the stability and security of home ownership.
In the past year alone, over 100 of our new homes were built for shared ownership, helping people across the region into safe, secure, and affordable housing.

Thanks to funding support from Homes England, as well as the dedication of our local authority partners and contractors, we’ve been able to deliver homes in both urban and rural communities.
