New homes and supported living
Our brand-new housing development has officially opened on Highfield Street in Coalville, bringing 22 high-quality, affordable homes to the heart of the community.
The scheme transforms previously unused land into a vibrant residential area, designed to blend with the surrounding neighbourhood and meet the growing need for affordable housing in North West Leicestershire.
The 12 two- and three-bedroom homes, are available for social rent through North West Leicestershire District Council’s housing register. Each home includes private outdoor space, dedicated parking, and has been built to a high standard with energy efficiency in mind – achieving an EPC B rating to help keep running costs low.
Alongside the family homes, the development includes 10 one-bedroom maisonettes that will form part of a new supported living service led by Leicestershire County Council. These homes are designed to help young people live independently, with tailored support from NCHA’s Support Workers.
Working in partnership
The development was delivered in partnership with Morro Partnerships, Leicestershire County Council, North West Leicestershire District Council, and Homes England.
Simon Preston, Managing Director (East Midlands) at Morro Partnerships, said:
“We’re incredibly proud to see this development come to life. By working closely with NCHA and Leicestershire County Council, we’ve delivered energy-efficient homes that provide real social value for the community.”
Councillor Andrew Woodman, Portfolio Holder for Housing at NWLDC, added:
“This development brings much-needed affordable housing to our district, giving more people the opportunity to move into a new home sooner.”
Cllr Christine Radford, Cabinet Lead for Adult Social Care at Leicestershire County Council, said:
“Living in the right accommodation with the right support is vital for wellbeing and independence. We’re pleased to see this scheme completed and look forward to welcoming future tenants.”
The scheme was made possible through a collaborative funding effort between NCHA and Homes England, which aligns with their Strategic Partnership for 2021-2028, aimed at delivering affordable housing across the East Midlands.
