Celebrating women in development
Senior team on the move
As we mark International Women’s Day, we’re proud to celebrate the achievements, leadership and progression of the talented women driving our Development and Sales teams forward. This year brings significant transitions within the team, each one highlighting the strength, experience and ambition of our colleagues.
A fond farewell: Jo Hill retires after 28-years in housing
After a fantastic 28-year career in housing, Jo Hill, Assistant Director of Development and Sales, will be retiring in May. Jo joined NCHA in 2022 and has since played a key role in shaping and delivering our development ambitions.
Reflecting on her time in the sector, Jo shared: “For me, I feel most proud when I drive past schemes that I’ve been involved in developing. Our work is so tangible, and I know the positive difference it makes to people. I can retire knowing that this work will continue in the safe hands of Fran Cropper.
“Fran brings extensive experience in regeneration and local government, and she’s also so committed to our values. In a senior leadership role, it’s essential to maintain a clear, strategic understanding of the whole organisation, and Fran consistently brings that breadth of perspective. Her vision and commitment will serve the organisation exceptionally well as she steps into this role.”
New leadership: Fran Cropper steps into Assistant Director role
We’re delighted that Fran has been promoted from New Business and Development Manager to Assistant Director of Development and Sales, taking up the post on 16 March to allow for a smooth handover.
Fran brings a wealth of knowledge, a collaborative mindset and a deep commitment to our mission. On her new role, Fran said: “I am thrilled to be stepping into the Assistant Director role, at a pivotal point as NCHA moves towards our biggest ever development programme. I have worked in social housing for over 20 years, and my absolute motivation is the opportunity we have to give people the foundation of safe and secure housing so that they can live healthy and fulfilled lives.
“There is nothing quite like watching happy families moving into homes we have built, it puts the years of negotiations, hard work and sleepless nights for each project into perspective!
“I am looking forward to leading the brilliant and talented Development and Sales teams, delivering more homes than ever before and strengthening our partnerships to make things happen.”
Growing talent: Elira Mano promoted to New Business and Development Manager
Fran’s promotion opens another exciting opportunity within the development team. Elira, currently Project Manager, has been promoted to New Business and Development Manager.
Elira shared her enthusiasm for what comes next: “I am thrilled to be taking on the new role and play my part in delivering the homes and communities we’re so proud of. I’ve learned so much here and I’m genuinely grateful for the chance to keep growing alongside such a dedicated team.”
Celebrating women’s leadership
As we celebrate International Women’s Day, we’re delighted to see these strong career women grow, inspire others, and continue to shape the future of affordable housing. Their achievements highlight not only individual success, but the strength of a supportive, values-driven organisation where women lead with vision and impact.
