Bulwell community comes together
Learning more about our homes and services
We welcomed local residents, councillors and partners to a community drop in event in Bulwell this week, held to share information and answer questions about our new £23 million social housing development in the area.
Developing communities and strengthening connections is an important part of our work. Events like this help ensure local people feel informed, involved and heard as the project progresses.
Attendees had the chance to meet colleagues from NCHA, representatives from Nottingham City Council and our construction partners, Owl Partnerships, who are delivering the build.
Residents were able to ask questions, learn more about the new homes and find out how the development will support the local area.
Transforming two sites into welcoming neighbourhoods
Despite recent wet weather, work is progressing well on transforming the two vacant brownfield sites in Bulwell - the former Henry Mellish School and the unused Piccadilly playing field. These sites are being brought back into positive use, creating safe, modern and energy efficient neighbourhoods that will support community cohesion for years to come.
Construction began in 2025, and the first homes are expected to be handed over in April 2026.
Providing high quality, affordable homes
Once complete, the development will offer a mix of two and three bedroom properties, all designed to meet EPC A standards, helping residents keep energy costs down.
The homes include:
- 68 homes for social rent, allocated through Nottingham City Council’s housing list
- 34 shared ownership homes, offering a part buy, part rent option to help people take their first step onto the property ladder
We’re already seeing strong interest in the shared ownership properties. If you’d like to register your interest, please email nchasales@ncha.org.uk.
