Affordable housing development completed in Long Bennington

We've officially completed a new affordable housing development on Main Road, Long Bennington in Lincolnshire, delivering 43 much-needed homes for the local community.

Located between Newark-on-Trent and Grantham, the Long Bennington development offers a peaceful rural lifestyle with excellent transport links. The area is already home to a thriving new community. Residents have shared overwhelmingly positive feedback, praising the “fantastic homes with everything you need”, the “peaceful location”, and how they “feel part of a community”.

The new homes, are a mix of houses, bungalows and maisonettes. Fifteen of the homes are available for shared ownership and the remainder 28 let at an affordable rent to people on South Kesteven District Council’s waiting list. All homes have been designed by AnotherKind Architects and built to a high energy efficiency standard.

South Kesteven District Council joined us at a recent visit to mark the completion of the scheme. Guests toured the site, viewed inside some of the homes, and met residents who now call Long Bennington home.

A resident commented, “I moved here to be closer to family. It’s a great place, I’m a member of the bowls club and local church. The area feels safe for children and there’s a strong sense of community.”

Allan Fisher, NCHA’s Director of Development and Sustainability, expressed his enthusiasm for the development. “We’re proud to have delivered sustainable homes that not only meet the needs of local families but also demonstrate the importance of affordable housing in rural areas.”

All rental homes have now been taken, but three properties remain available for sale through shared ownership – part rent, part buy. A show home is open for interested buyers. For more information, contact nchasales@ncha.org.uk.

The development has been made possible through our successful funding partnership with Homes England. The scheme supports our Strategic Partnership with Homes England for 2021–2028, which aims to increase the supply of affordable homes across the East Midlands. The site was presented by Minster Property Group and built by Nottingham-based company MyPad
