A stable home in Melton Mowbray

Joanne has recently moved into a one-bedroom home on our new development in Melton Mowbray. Joanne has faced many challenges in recent years, including living with mental health conditions and nerve damage in her knees and ankles. Despite her health issues, Joanne works part-time in Assisted Living, supporting vulnerable people to live independently in their homes.

Life before NCHA

Prior to finding her new home, Joanne had been sofa surfing for around five years – which had a hugely negative impact on her well-being and lifestyle. Her job required frequent travel from Leicester to Melton Mowbray, which meant high travel costs, irregular meals, and an unhealthy routine. Much of her income was spent on commuting and eating on the go, leaving little room for financial security or personal health.

A fresh start

Joanne’s brand-new, energy-efficient one-bedroom home has provided her with the stability she desperately needs. Joanne is already feeling at home. She’s connected with her neighbour, which has helped her settle into the new area and feel part of the community.
