Property surveys this summer
Every two years we complete an independent ‘stock condition survey’ to check the condition of NCHA homes.
This year, we’re working with Michael Dyson Associates to carry out the surveys for us from mid-August 2025. Having an independent surveyor manage these surveys helps to ensure the survey results are accurate and fair.
A random sample of 400 customer homes have been selected for this survey. We’re posting letters to those customers whose homes have been chosen, so you’ll know what to expect and next steps if this impacts you.
If you’re contacted by Michael Dyson Associates (MDA), we’d like to reassure you it’s genuine and important. Their team members will have an ID badge and a letter of authority from NCHA.
Not every customer will need to take part in this survey, so please don’t worry if you don’t hear from us about this.
What happens during the survey
The surveyor will carry out a visual assessment of the internal and external areas of the property, including windows, doors, kitchens, bathrooms and heating appliances. The aim is to assess their condition, age, and remaining lifespan.
It helps identify potential repairs, maintenance needs, and risks, so we can deliver a great service for you. This also enables us to plan future improvements and comply with regulations like the Government's Decent Home Standard.
They’re not concerned with how tidy or clean your home is, so please don’t worry about that.
It should take no longer than 20 minutes to complete.
Thanks for your support.
