Helping you with your finances
We understand that times are tough right now. Many people are facing financial challenges, and for some, this can lead to worries about keeping their home.
At NCHA, we’re here to help. Our Customer Accounts team includes specialists in debt advice, benefits, Universal Credit and welfare reform. They work with customers every day to help manage money, reduce debt and avoid eviction due to rent arrears.
As we mark World Homelessness Day on 10 October, we want to highlight the support available to help you stay in your home.
Support when you need it most
If you're struggling financially, you're not alone. Our team can work with you and other support agencies to look at your full financial situation and help you find a way forward.
Between April 2024 and March 2025, we helped 60 customers who were at serious risk of losing their home due to rent arrears. Together, we achieved:
· £132,862 of debt written off
· £60,786 in annual welfare benefit gains
· £2,545 in welfare backpay awarded
Eviction is always a last resort, and we will always support customers who are actively working with us to manage their arrears.
If you're worried about rent arrears or struggling to manage your finances, please reach out to us. Please contact us, we’re here to help.
