We celebrate the grand opening of Clifton

On Friday 27 June, we proudly marked the official opening of our newest community on Farnborough Road in Clifton, with a celebratory summer event attended by local residents, staff members and their families, and special guest Lilian Greenwood, Member of Parliament for Nottingham South.

The Summer Fete welcomed community members and stakeholders to tour our new development while enjoying food, entertainment, market stalls and family fun. The day ‘kicked off’ with a football tournament, where 16 teams representing organisations working with us raised over £1,200 for Crisis, the national charity supporting people experiencing homelessness.

The event brought hundreds of people together, who witnessed the ribbon-cutting ceremony of a bespoke friendship bench which was donated by our partner contractor, GEDA. GEDA not only contract-managed the build of the development, they also generously sponsored the event.

Paul Moat, NCHA Chief Executive said: “We’re thrilled to welcome residents, colleagues and members of the community to our vibrant, inclusive space. Our goal has always been to create more than just homes - we build communities where people can connect, grow, and thrive. Our site on Farnborough Road is a great example of this ethos.”

Lilian Greenwood, MP for Nottingham South, said: “I was delighted when NCHA proposed bringing their headquarters to Clifton along with their affordable homes. They have transformed the old college site into a ready-made community which will be a huge asset to our city. Many congratulations to NCHA and GEDA for making this happen and to the residents who have moved into their new homes.”

The new development on Farnborough Road features our new workplace, accommodation for older people, and supported housing units for homeless families – delivering 70 much needed affordable homes for the area. The site is surrounded by green spaces and football facilities, with sustainability at the heart. The development was created with input from local stakeholders and is part of a broader initiative to address housing needs while fostering inclusive, connected neighbourhoods.

The launch event was a celebration of collaboration between residents, government representatives, and the NCHA team, showcasing the shared commitment to building a stronger and more vibrant area in Nottingham.
