Supporting survivors of domestic abuse
Our work supporting survivors of domestic abuse has been recognised by Women’s Aid.
Supporting those at risk of abuse is built into all our services. We offer refuge accommodation, community support, one-to-one sessions and group workshops, specialist support for children and we train our colleagues to spot if someone might need help.
We’re pleased to announce that our work in this area has been accredited with Women’s Aid ‘associate membership’.
In their feedback, they praised our approach: “[NCHA] provides a strong domestic abuse service provision for survivors and work in consortium with member services in the East Midlands.”
Supporting people at risk
This associate membership demonstrates that we are a trusted pair of hands in the domestic abuse services we deliver; our refuges, our outreach teams, and our support for customers and colleagues.

Our approach to supporting people affected by domestic abuse is outlined in our 2024-2029 plan for domestic abuse.
Concerned about someone?
If you think someone is in immediate danger from domestic abuse, dial 999 and tell the police. Contact your local neighbourhood policing team if it’s not an emergency.
You can also contact the National Domestic Abuse Helpline for advice and support: ring them on 0808 2000 247 at any time. A charity called Respect runs an advice line for men, which is 0808 801 0327
