Our Board Member of the Year

At last night’s Women in Housing Awards we were delighted to see our Board Member, and NCHA customer, Natalie Robinson, win the Board Member of the Year Award.

Natalie has only been an NCHA Board Member since 2023, but prior to that she volunteered to chair our new Scrutiny Panel when it was first established in 2021. She’s also a solicitor, a lecturer and NCHA shared ownership customer.

As a board member, Natalie brings a powerful customer voice to every conversation. Described as a natural leader with authenticity and impact, she is widely respected and actively involved, including attending our ED&I Panel and being part of our colleague conference. Her commitment is rooted in experience: “I know what it’s like to run out of money on the electric meter, feel hunger,” Natalie says. “My volunteering comes from a deep place.”

At the Women in Housing Awards, the judges said: “Natalie is an outstanding board member with a deep commitment to customer advocacy, diversity and governance. Her journey from scrutiny panel to NCHA’s boardroom is a testament to her dedication and leadership.”

Our huge congratulations to Natalie, it’s a privilege to have her on our Board, and see her contributions recognised.

Well done to Kaye

Kaye Challinor, our Assistant Director of Assets, was nominated for the Professional of the Year Award for her success in leading on the project to bring our responsive repairs service in-house. She managed her teams through that period of transition, and her sheer drive to deliver the very best for our customers and colleagues is unstoppable. Unfortunately, Kaye wasn’t a winner at the ceremony last night, but we were proud to see her shortlisted.

You can find the full list of winners for the Women in Housing Awards on their websites.

If you’re a customer interested in getting involved, we’re currently looking for more people to join us to share their views and get paid to make a difference. Find out more about getting involved on our website.
