Flaming success for sponsored Fire Walk

It’s been one whole year since we moved into our new NCHA workplace, Clifton Place.

To celebrate this special anniversary in style, 60 colleagues from across the business conquered their fears by walking over 600oC of red-hot coals in the ultimate charity fundraising event last night (Tuesday 4 November 2025).

We’ve so far raised over £2,500 for Keswick and Penrith Mount Rescue in loving memory of our wonderful friend and colleague, Joey Tandy, who tragically passed away earlier this year. Joey had planned to do the fire walk with us, so the challenge was a valued chance to honour his legacy and support a cause close to his family’s heart.

Facing the flames

Starting with a one-hour seminar, the atmosphere turned electric as our firewalkers learned fear management techniques to help them summon the courage to face the fire.

It was lovely to see so many friends, family members and customers from Farnborough Court and Malone Terrace turn out to cheer on our ferocious firewalkers.

The event concluded with an outdoor community celebration. The evening was a brilliant reminder of what we can achieve when we pull together.

If you would like to support our fundraiser – our JustGiving page is still open here.

Well done to everyone who conquered the coals – here’s to another positive year at Clifton Place!
