Developing future leaders at NCHA
This spring two groups of colleagues have completed an aspiring managers course with us at NCHA.
A group of our support workers, who work in Care and Support teams, have completed an aspiring assistant manager course, whilst a group of colleagues from other areas of the business have finished an aspiring people manager course.
Both courses cover a wide range of topics including application and interview skills, wellbeing and resilience, relationship building and effective communications. The courses last for one year, with colleagues attending an in-person training session one day a month.
We’re pleased to be able to support our colleagues to learn new skills, improve their career prospects and achieve their potential with us. We’ve been delighted to see several of the participants take on new roles and responsibilities already.
Spencer Welby, Assistant Director of People, said:
“This is a really valuable opportunity that we give to colleagues at NCHA. Everyone who has completed this course should be incredibly proud of what they have achieved, and I wish them all the best for their future careers.”
Supporting our colleagues to develop reinforces one of our ambitions in our corporate plan: ‘The skills, qualifications and experience of our teams will enable us to deliver great services.’ By encouraging personal development of our people, we’ll protect our services for the future.
