£5.5m in social value
This year’s Environmental, Social and Governance Report places a strong spotlight on the social value created through our homes and services. In 2024/25, NCHA generated just over £5.5 million in social value - a powerful reflection of the positive changes people experience when they have access to safe, secure housing and the right support.
One of the most meaningful insights comes from the conversations we have with customers nine months after they move into their NCHA home. Their feedback shows improvements across every area of life. People tell us their homes are warmer and more energy efficient. They feel more connected to their neighbourhoods, with better access to green space and stronger relationships with the people around them.
The psychological impact is just as significant. New tenants report feeling more in control of their lives, more confident in making decisions, and happier overall. These findings highlight the profound difference that good-quality, affordable housing makes - not only to someone’s comfort, but to their wellbeing, stability and future opportunities.
Our care and support services also continue to deliver deep and lasting impact. We work with people experiencing homelessness, domestic abuse, complex lives or disability - often at the most challenging points in their lives. This year, 89% of the people we support reported positive emotions linked to the service they receive from NCHA.
Together, these outcomes demonstrate the real, measurable value of our work and the difference NCHA colleagues make every single day.
