Supporting our customers
Sarah Ball, Contract Manager in Care & Support shares the work we do to support our customers.
Mental health affects one in four people in England.
For some people the effects of their condition can have a long lasting impact on their wellbeing and health. They may require intensive medical help, a hospital stay and ongoing support in the community. Some people recover complete, whilst others live with fluctuating mental health over their lifetime.
Our specialist care and support services provide support to people with enduring complex mental health needs. Some people will be newly diagnosed and receiving support for the first time, whilst some will have been receiving support for years.
We don’t like labels in mental health services. We never define the people we support by their diagnosis. People’s experiences are unique to them; we treat everyone as an individual.
Our services
We offer a range of services to support those living with a mental health diagnosis, including:
- Registered care homes
- Supported housing
- Supported living
- Outreach support
- Floating support.
We use a trauma informed approach to help us understand why our service users may think, feel and behave the way they do. This helps us to respond to their needs in the best way.
We also offer a 24 hour critical mental health helpline in people in West Yorkshire.
Please don’t suffer alone. If you or someone you know is struggling with their mental health, please seek help. There is some great advice and resources on the Mind website.
