Celebrating Shared Ownership Week 2021

Celebrating the affordable way to buy a home.

Shared ownership has already helped over 1300 people to buy a new NCHA home. So we thought we would support Shared Ownership Week, from 23 – 29 September by sharing information about the scheme.

About shared ownership

Shared ownership is another way to buy your home. You buy a percentage, and pay rent on the rest. The housing association owns part of it — but you’re living there, you decorate it, and you decide when to sell. Buying a percentage means a smaller deposit and smaller mortgage. It’s a sooner first step on the ladder for lots of people. Usually, you can also carry on buying shares, to own it 100%. For many people, especially first-time buyers, it can be an easier way to own your first home.
