We are ‘Considerate Contractors’

NCHA have been awarded ‘Considerate Contractor’ status, following a recent assessment at our site in Ollerton.

Our seven-home build in Ollerton is the first of its kind for NCHA. It’s the first site were we’re doing it all: design, development and build. To achieve Considerate Contractor status so early on in the project is an amazing success.

The Considerate Contractor scheme is part of the drive to change the face of construction, making it better, cleaner and safer and minimising the impact on the environment. And we want to be a part of that.

The three hour assessment and tour of the site scored us against five headings: appearance, community, environment, safety and workforce. We achieved ‘very good’ or ‘excellent’ in all five.

The report praised the appearance, organisation and cleanliness of the site and the focus on colleague welfare and wellbeing: “The company and site are providing a supportive, inclusive and caring work environment.”

They also commented on our work with the local community: “The site has built very good working relations with the site’s neighbours with examples given of good will and mutual support”, and acknowledged the effort we’ve gone to protect the neighbouring nature reserve.

Six monthly inspections will ensure we continue to be inclusive, improve the health and wellbeing of our on-site colleagues, minimise disruption to the communities we work in and limit our impact on the environment.

That’s what considerate contractors do!
