Transforming my career at NCHA

Tracy works in our Business Transformation team, but she’s had plenty of different roles at NCHA. In the nine years she’s been with us she’s also worked in our Care and Support, Property Services and SMaRT teams.

Starting in 2013, she spent time working with families who were homeless or at risk of eviction. Even if they had a home, but it wasn’t suitable, Tracy worked hard to “find a better home” for many people.

With many roles on offer in our Care and Support department, she also held an admin role. Working as an Admin Assistant, she assisted with various tasks to support our Homelessness Prevention Service.

“My job was to support the service”, Tracy said. “I’d organise the referrals, distribute cases and rotas and arrange assessment appointments”.

In 2015, she worked in our Property Services department, after successfully getting a secondment. Her role as a Work Planner allowed her to get experience planning jobs for our gas, electrical and general maintenance teams.

Things changed in 2020 after taking on a secondment within the Business Transformation team. Since then she’s worked on many projects across NCHA, facilitating new ideas to improve the way we do things. She’s currently a Project Business Partner dedicated to managing projects that move our organisation forward.

Tracy said: “I’m always keen to learn, challenge myself and trying something new. Secondments give you a chance to learn more and meet new people. I’m always telling others to put themselves forward for new opportunities as you never know where it will lead.”
