Giving back to the community

Access Training is a work-based learning provider based in the East Midlands that we jointly own with Futures Housing Group. They provide apprenticeships and other training programmes to learners of all ages.

They’ve supported over 450 apprentices in the UK housing sector over the last four years. Through what they do, we can measure the social value added to our local community through the training and support offered. This increase in skills, employability and confidence levels has huge benefits. It translates to millions of pounds in social return on the investment in apprenticeships and other training schemes.

Since we bought Access Training, around 6,500 learners across our region have completed training schemes. This includes schemes, such as apprenticeships and traineeships, resulting in over 10,000 qualifications. The result is a very tangible impact on life chances and the local economy.

At NCHA it is crucial for us to invest in partnerships which deliver work in accordance with our vision and in accordance with our values. In Access Training we have found the perfect training and apprenticeships partner and we have benefited greatly from their input into our business. I am proud to support this ongoing, critical partnership and the work it delivers, giving back to people from across the East Midlands.

Our support of learners across the East Midlands has added value of £30 million to our local communities since NCHA bought our company. Many of our learners were unemployed or at risk of unemployment prior to joining one of our courses. By giving them the opportunity to improve their skills and employability, we’re reducing the burden on the public purse that inevitably goes hand in hand with economic inactivity.
