Funding boost for new homes
We’ll be receiving part of £5.2bn funding allocation from Homes England to build more homes in the East Midlands.
In partnership with Longhurst Group, we’ve been awarded £230m in extra government funding to build 3,935 more affordable homes, after being selected by Homes England as strategic partners.
We are among a list of 31 organisations that form the latest wave of strategic partners outside of London who agree to expand their development programmes by a specified number of homes in return for additional government funding.
This group of organisations will be given a total of £5.2bn to build more than 90,000 new affordable homes over the next seven years. With a further award for organisations in London the programme has allocated £8.6bn nationally.
Allan Fisher, Director of Development and Assets for NCHA said: “We’re over the moon to have once again been selected as one of Homes England’s Strategic Partners. It’s a credit to our Development teams who have worked hard to make a success of the current strategic partnership programme that we’ve also been part of, and we’re thrilled to be able to keep up that momentum.
There’s a huge shortage of social housing in the East Midlands, so we’re looking forward to working with our partners to deliver these much needed homes.”
