Earn while you learn with an apprenticeship

As one of our business support administrators, Abby’s been with us for five years, supporting colleagues across NCHA.

She helps with admin tasks and provides technical support when needed. It’s a varied role that gives her chance to connect with many different colleagues. “Every day is different and I love it”, Abby says. “My colleagues are really supportive.”

Not only does she get flexible working hours and other employee benefits, we also have professional opportunities to work your way up.

Abby started her NCHA journey as an apprentice completing a Level 2 in Business Administration. Now she’s getting the chance to develop further in her career with us.

Abby explains: “I started a new apprenticeship (Level 3 in Business Administration) last year and should be completed next year.

“I get a named assessor who supports me the whole way through. For both my apprenticeships my assessors have been great – they’ve been very friendly and approachable. When I’ve needed help they’ve gotten back to me quickly with the assistance I need.

“I did my course through Access Training, who even support you with Maths and English if you haven’t got GCSEs and provide a Functional Skills certificate.

“The work can be hard but it’s very rewarding. I’m so grateful I can earn a full wage that allows me to pay my bills while gaining a useful qualification (or two in my case!).”
