Delivering over £7m of social value
Social value is the positive value that people place on the changes they experience in their lives. And it can be measured in pounds and pence.
At NCHA we’re dedicated to ensuring the work we do in the communities we work in makes a real difference; so we’ve measured how much social value (in pounds and pence) that our services and activities deliver.
In 2021/22 we created a huge £7,167,498 of social value for our customers, communities and colleagues.
This is an incredible achievement that we’re really proud of. Our figure for 2020/21 was £5,294,462 so this is a great result for us.
Customers starting a new tenancy with NCHA generated over £4.5m in social value, and almost £1m was generated due to the care and support services we deliver.
Measurement
We worked with an independent organisation called HACT to help with our social value calculations. There’s real science behind it, recognised and endorsed by HM Treasury, offering us a true calculation of the impact of our homes and services.
Supporting our strategy
Adding social value is a big part of our new Social Impact Strategy. It ensures:
- We’re not just building houses, we’re improving wellbeing
- We aren’t just managing tenancies, we’re supporting better lives
- We aren’t just providing care and support services, we’re delivering brighter futures.
