Let your voice be heard at work

Aiesha works as part of our Homelessness Prevention Service, supporting people in the Nottingham City area. She provides support to people at risk of homelessness, including:

  • Helping to get essential goods
  • Assisting with budgeting and debt management
  • Supporting people to find safe and secure housing.

She’s fairly new to NCHA, but loves the chance to help people, in a company where you can “work your way up”. Aiesha’s already completed her Level 3 in Health and Social Care and she’s working her way up to doing an NVQ Level 4 in Management.

“We get the chance to do lots of training”, Aiesha says. “I like that you can work your way up at NCHA. We get good pay and benefits, like HealthShield.

“There’s a Colleague Voice group and other ways that colleagues can give feedback. It shows that NCHA are interested in what you have to say. I feel valued – NCHA are always checking in to make sure I’m doing ok.

Equality and diversity is respected. There’s a panel that meet regularly to talk about how NCHA can be more inclusive, so everyone’s voice is heard. I’d like to stay at NCHA in the future and manage a team. We do make a difference here and the work we do is important.”
