Regeneration in Sherwood with the completion of the Lloyd Street development

We’ve completed the creation of seven new affordable rent homes in Nottingham, with on-site work now being finalised at Lloyd Street in Sherwood.

With a layout designed to protect a tree at the front of the scheme that’s under a Tree Protection Order, the design, created by Pelham Architects, was influenced by Nottingham City Council’s Planning department, including, the raising of the ground floors in light of surface water flooding advice.

Formally, the site of an underused car park area behind the Sherwood Inn Pub on Mansfield Road, the scheme was transformed through development by Waters Homes, with five two-bed houses and two three-bed houses available through Nottingham Homelink, with a design that’s consistent with the traditional Victorian terraces in the area.

Lisa Raine, Development Project Manager, said: “We’re delighted to complete these desirable affordable homes in the heart of Sherwood.”

Simon Henderson, Senior Architect, tells us more about the project: “The scheme has really transformed Lloyd Street, infilling a gap in the urban fabric and adding interest to the street.”
Situated in the heart of Sherwood, the site is well provided with local facilities, public transport and public parking, offering a great place to live in this central part of Nottingham.
