Top Ten Rating For Inspection

We’re breaking out the bubbly after the fantastic result following our recent inspection by the Audit Commission.

Their rating of Two Stars with excellent prospects for improvement puts us in a very exclusive group of top performing associations in the country.

Of the 1,300 housing associations in England, only 10 have ever been given this rating, and six of those were transfer associations working with only one or two local authorities. NCHA works with 26 councils throughout the East Midlands.

According to the report released by the Audit Commission, NCHA ensures that its properties are well maintained and empty properties are let quickly.  Performance for completing repairs on time and gas servicing is strong, and it provides effective support to victims of domestic violence.

Deborah Good, Lead Housing Inspector, said "NCHA provides a customer-focused service to its tenants and to those living in supported housing.  Staff are well trained and morale is high.  NCHA is successful at attracting investment into the organisation for the benefit of tenants".

Cracking open the first bottle at the celebration, Chief Executive Mike Andrews said "We found the inspection process helped us focus our attention on service delivery and quality.  The process has enabled us to raise standards and identify more clearly the areas we need to improve.

We are particularly proud of our ’excellent prospects for improvement’ rating which confirms to us that we are heading in the right direction in reaching our vision of  More homes, great services, better lives".
