Chief Executive announces retirement
NCHA’s founder and Chief Executive, Andrew Malone, has announced that he will be retiring in 2007.
After almost 34 years at the helm, he has agreed with the Board of Management that they will start looking for a successor. Advertisements will be appearing in Inside Housing and the Sunday Times for a new Chief Executive of NCHA.
In a personal note to NCHA’s 750 staff, Andrew explained that due to failing health in the last five years and four major surgical operations, he had been advised by doctors to reduce work pressures and schedules.
Andrew went on to praise the loyalty and support he had received from staff and said that the success of NCHA derived entirely from the commitment of staff at all levels. Remarking on the constant growth and out performance of targets in the 34 years of the Association, Andrew felt that now was a good time to be handing over the top position to someone new.
Andrew will retire no later than end October 2007. This will give ample time to find a replacement and mentor the new Chief Executive.
