Five million pound scheme for Eastwood
The Government has just announced the latest release of funding, some of which will go towards a much-needed scheme of affordable housing for Brookhill Leys Road in Eastwood.
A grant of £2,433,000 from the Homes & Communities Agency will be matched by Nottingham Community Housing Association to build 40 new family homes costing £5,226,966. They will be built on the site of former public house The Moon & Stars and additional land to the rear by developer/contract company CKC D&B.
Developed in close consultation with Broxtowe Borough Council, building work will start next month and the scheme is hoped to be completed in Spring 2011. All allocations for the 32 rented homes will come from Broxtowe’s housing waiting list. There will also be eight homes for Rent to Homebuy.
Broxtowe’s Director of Housing, Leisure and Culture, Ted Czerniak said "As well as these important new affordable homes, this developement will bring new jobs to Eastwood so this is great news for the area."
