Screenwriter headlines at AGM

Switching location from Waterstones to Broadway Cinema this year inspired Nottingham Community Housing Association to ask a screenwriter to be their guest speaker.

Southwell-born William ’Billy’ Ivory will be taking off from writing his new series for the BBC to chat about his work which ranges from being a screen and playwright to acting.

Best remembered for penning the much-loved ’Common as Muck’ starring Roy Hudd and Edward Woodward, last year William created the ’The Invisibles’ which was screened on BBC 1 and starred Warren Clarke, Anthony Head and Jenny Agutter.

William has been busy this year writing and filming a feature film starring Bob Hoskins and Miranda Richardson which will be released next year; and he is currently working on a new series for the BBC as well as ’Queens’, another feature with Film 4.

Also being featured is a ’Talking Heads’ film made by the service users of NCHA’s Housing with Care & Support section, who talk about the difference NCHA has made to their lives.
