Andrew Malone, Chief Executive of Nottingham Community Housing Association (NCHA), has been awarded an OBE by Her Majesty the Queen for services to social housing across the East Midlands.
Andrew has had a distinguished career. Starting off the association in 1973, he has built it up to become one of the largest housing associations in the East Midlands, with over 600 staff looking after 10,000 tenants in 7,000 homes across the region.
Redeveloping and revitalising some of the poorest parts of the East Midlands, NCHA is committed to providing quality, affordable housing to those most in need. Working in partnership with 26 local authorities, NCHA’s operations now extend from the former coalfield homes of North Nottinghamshire down to its single largest current scheme of 76 new build homes at Kingsthorpe in Northants.
Commenting on the award, Andrew said - “I am delighted to accept this honour as recognition of the enormous contribution that the association and all its staff have made over the past thirty-two years to meeting the housing needs of people throughout the East Midlands region.”
