Fire safety: A year on

Today marks the one year anniversary of the tragedy at Grenfell Tower; our thoughts are with the family and friends of those involved.

At NCHA we take our responsibilities for fire safety very seriously. We comply with all fire safety related legislation and acknowledge our moral duty to ensure that our properties are adequately protected from all foreseeable fire risks that may arise.

The events at Grenfell last year gave us all cause to stop and review our processes and response to fire safety.

Dedicated email address

We have set up a direct email address: firesafe@ncha.org.uk

Please include details of your concern, along with contact details and your address, so that we can fully investigate the matter. (Please note, as per our Communication Standards, emails are responded to within 5 working days)

If you have an emergency repair or concern, please call our maintenance department 24 hours a day on 0800 013 8555 / 0115 844 3150

Fire risk assessments

We own and manage 382 buildings that require a fire risk assessment and 143 buildings require annual reviews.

All fire risk assessments and reviews have been, and will always be up to date.

High rise cladding review

We own three buildings defined as high-rise (more than six storeys high/have a floor/floors over 18m above ground level)

We have reviewed these buildings and are pleased to confirm that NONE of these building feature cladding similar to that used on Grenfell Tower.

Fire safety events

We held fire safety events at each of our high-rise buildings, to which all residents were invited to raise any concerns and seek advice.

Fire Safety booklet

We created a fire safety booklet, detailing our responsibilities, advice on fire safety and escape plan

A copy of this booklet was sent to all 6,000+ of our tenants
