Donations at Christmas

Thank you to our maintenance contractors who provided some lovely presents for our care and support customers.

Christmas is normally a positive time of year, but for some of our customers it can be difficult.

For those who live in our care and support schemes, potentially without loved ones to provide a card or present, it can be a reminder that they don’t have the ‘traditional’ sense of family around them.

Tracy Dooley from our Property Services team worked closely with contractors J Tomlinson Ltd and P.J. Lilley Ltd to change that.

Matthew Score, our Maintenance Manager, explains: “As part of our framework contract there’s a strong emphasis on social value and both P.J. Lilley and Tomlinson were more than happy to help and really pushed the boat out with their contributions.

“P.J. Lilley provided a personal gift for each resident at Little Barn Lane in Mansfield along with two massive hampers of food and treats. Tomlinson also provided a personal gift and a selection box for our service users at Blyth Street and Dale Street.

“Really though, the shining light of all this needs to be on Tracy, without her efforts none of this would have happened.”

Tom Travers, Building Services Director for P.J. Lilley, said: “It was a pleasure to meet the staff and to provide the gifts for the residents we hope they will have an enjoyable Christmas.”

Anthony Dyson, Operations Manager, at J Tomlinson, comments further: “It was a pleasure to be able to support Nottingham Community Housing Association and their customers this Christmas. The festive season can be challenging for many people, and we hope that the donated gifts go some way to making this time of the year a little bit brighter for Dale Street and Blyth Street residents.”

Our Property Services team also did a collection, raising over £120 to provide scarves and hats for 34 customers this Christmas. Colleagues also donated Christmas trees and decorations to our local care and support services.
