Domestic abuse

I'm experiencing domestic abuse, what can I do?

Those at risk of, or experiencing domestic abuse in any form are still able to leave their home and seek refuge, despite government advice to stay at home. The free National Domestic Abuse Helpline - 0808 2000 247 - remains open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Refuges will also remain open, and the police will continue to provide support to victims.

We will still treat any reports of domestic abuse as a priority case. We will continue to have specialist officers managing these cases, with support from managers.

We will continue to work with our partner agencies in identifying the best and most appropriate way for us to support victims and survivors.

Women’s Aid offer some very helpful guidance for victims and survivors.
