Colsterworth overcomes rural housing crisis
NCHA has built two developments in Colsterworth and the second to provide much-needed affordable homes for local people was opened in November.
Apple Tree Close comprises six 2-bed houses, six 3-bed houses and three 2-bedroomed bungalows - all for rent and built to the Level 3 Code for Sustainable homes and all boasting air source heat pumps. The homes were constructed by Larkfleet Homes and designed by Peterborough architects Ingleton Wood.
This attractive scheme was funded by a grant of nearly £1million from the Homes & Communities Agency which was matched by funding from Nottingham Community Housing Association. NCHA will manage the properties which will house tenants from the waiting list of South Kesteven District Council.
In recognition of the continuing successful partnership between the council and NCHA, Councillor Paul Carpenter, Deputy Leader and Housing Portfolio holder for South Kesteven, kindly carried out the ceremony which was attended by partners and prospective tenants.
