BUILDING NEW HOMES

During the three weeks Shaun was in KwaZulu-Natal, he supplied much needed building expertise to a Habitat for Humanity project which provides housing for orphans and vulnerable children who are victims of the AIDS crisis.

Shaun’s visit was a successful start to what we hope will be a long term relationship with HfH, and we are now looking forward to Phase Two of that relationship.

Work in progress

We are currently discussing the possibility of assisting in HfH’s ’blitz build’. This is scheduled for August, where an attempt will be made to build 14 houses in five days. Although it will be mostly unskilled volunteer labour from the local people, NCHA will be providing people trained in building, plumbing and electrics who might also be able to lead a team working on one or two houses.
